The following photos are of some of my gear: These are some of my electric instruments.
This Warwick Corvette is my main instrument. I invented a stand that uses the weight of the amp to hold up the bass. It's just a piece of wood that slips in between the amp and the speaker box. This Fender Jazz bass is a '75 reissue. It belonged to my late daughter, Jessica Jacobs. This Yamaha PB400M is a P bass copy I bought in 1988. It's the main bass used on enable Bass. I"ve made lots of modifications to it as follows:
I replaced the split pick-up with a Dimazio. I also dug a new cabity and added another Dimazio J style pickup. The unusual spacing is because this bass used to be balck with the name of our band "Wired" written vertically where I would normally have put this pick-up.
This picture shows 3 modifications:
This cutaway allows for easy access to the higher frets.
I made this fretless bass a few summers ago. I didn't have any specialised tools so it took a long time using a rasp. The Jarrah (Australian hardwood) fingerboard is so strong that this instrument doesn't require a truss rod. This was my daughter's first bass, an Ibanez SG shape.
Instead of getting her school yearbook signed, she sanded of the paint (originally black) and got her bass signed instead. I made this speaker box as I had good Eminence speakers but the cabinet was originally made from flimsy particle board. It now sounds much better.
