Place the hair of the bow on a string close to the
frog.
Push down on the string using mainly the pressure of the
index finger and pull the bow to the right. Release some of the finger/arm pressure as
soon as the bow starts moving and pull the bow into the palm of the hand, the fingers
becoming more arched.
Draw the bow until it reaches the tip end of the bow hair.
Carry out the same motions in reverse direction, i.e. to
the left, this time, however, pushing the frog away from the palm of the hand, the fingers
becoming more straight.
